Following on from the success of what can arguably be called New Zealand's most competitive and challenging KartSport series, the 14th running of the ProKart Series is getting ready to rumble.

As always, the ProKart Series continues to evolve and this year is no different.

This is the first year the series will be run by Kartsport New Zealand affiliated promoter – SB Promotions Ltd. Not really much of a change because Steve Brown (Team Leader of SB Promotions) has been involved in organising all previous years' series and  continues to be at the forefront of ProKart. His assurance to the competitors that the success of the series will always come first is Steve's number one focus. The team at ProKart, together with Kartsport New Zealand, will be working in 2014 to improve the procedures and timetabling of events with trial introductions to better and assist our drivers, who are competing overseas, with the necessary skills they need to compete on the world stage.

Secondly, this year sees the introduction of a new KZ2 class called KZ2 Restricted. This provides a class for those who are perhaps new to KZ shifter racing, or carry a little more weight than can be competitive in the KZ2 Open field or are not quite old enough to meet the age requirements for KZ2 Masters. Or for some who are looking for their racing to be a little less complex so the choice of 1 axle, 1 tuning combination and a specified Intake Silencer will simplify the chassis and engine tuning.

2014 brings 6 exciting rounds at some of New Zealand’s best tracks starting at Manawatu in February and ending in Auckland in September. All Clubs will be doing their utmost to show case their Club's facilities.

Following a hugely successful 2013 Series and the outstanding achievements of all our drivers who went to the SKUSA Nationals in Las Vegas last month, proves that the grounding NZ drivers get through such series as ProKart gives them the skills to compete at the front with world’s best. The 2014 ProKart Series shapes up to be the best and most exciting yet with top drivers returning to ProKart together with international entries.

So make the decision now – get that entry in. Then make the most of your holiday break because you’ll need all the energy you can find to match the pace of some of New Zealand’s (and the Worlds) best drivers - so bring it on….
