ARMSTRONG LOOKS FOR FINAL FINISH
THIS WEEKEND

Kiwi karter Marcus Armstrong is looking to make it to the chequered flag of the KF class Final this coming weekend after a strong start but early finish to his first 2015 European campaign event at the La Conca circuit in Italy last weekend.Marmsstrong wks1tent.jpg

The 14-year-old Christchurch driver, who this year has a works drive with Italy's Tony Kart team, qualified 10th and finished two of the three heats in the top 15 before working his way up to 10th in the Pre-Final.

The Final was red-flagged to allow drivers to change to wet tyres because of rain but an engine issue saw the talented young Kiwi complete only 12 of the 16 laps.

"Not the end result we wanted." he said," but with the next round this weekend I won't have long to wait to redeem myself."

Armstrong's Tony Kart teammate  Nicklas Nielsen from Denmark was the dominant figure in the KF class but couldn’t get his kart going again when the Final was restarted, leaving Richard Verschoor from the Netherlands to take the win from Russian Egor Stupenkov.

The second round of the Champions Cup series will be contested at La Conca this weekend.
