Kiwi karter Marcus Armstrong has finished tenth in the KF class at the first round of the WSK Master (kart) Series starts at Adria in Italy over the weekend.15armstrongwskr1leadingbig.jpg

The 14-year-old from Christchurch qualified 12th and completed a 7-10-8 run through the heats before a penalty saw him relegated back to eighth in his Pre Final

He then worked his way up from 15th on the grid to 10th in the Final, the latter won by Polish driver Karol Basz from Armstrong's Tony Kart teammate Nicklas Nielsen and CRG driver Martin van Leeuwen from the Netherlands.

"It wasn't a fantastic week," the young Kiwi ace said last night. "We didn't get qualifying right so we were already on the back foot early.

"We were then given a penalty in Heat two and the Pre-Final, for having a wheel on the white line before the red lights went out.

"It was a shame, especially after we finished 4th in the Pre-Final.

"In the Final everybody suffered from severe tyre graining, so it was no disadvantage because everyone had the problem. "

The second of four rounds of this year's WSK Series will be hosted in a fortnight's time at the 7 Laghi International Circuit near Castelletto di Branduzzo near Pavia.
