With works Tony Kart teammate, Nicklas Nielsen from Denmark, 14-year-old Christchurch driver Armstrong has been one of the front-runners at the pre-season 'warm-up' meetings held in Italy over the past three weeks.

A fortnight ago, at the Winter Cup meeting at Lonato Armstrong finished second to Nielsen in the Final, while last weekend he stormed to fourth - and had the third placed driver in his sights - in the Final.

This weekend's opening WSK Master Series round has attracted over 200 entries across four classes, KZ2. KF2 (the class Armstrong is contesting which has over 40 entries alone), KF Junior and 60 Mini.

Subsequent rounds of this year's WSK Master Series are being held over the next month-and-a-half at kart tracks across northern Italy.
