PRIZE POOL INCENTIVE FOR CRC SPEEDSHOW

TOP HALF SERIES

A bumper prize pool valued at over $20,000 has helped attract keen karters from all over the upper North Island to sign up for the annual CRC Speedshow-sponsored Top Half Series which starts in Tokoroa this weekend.15TopHalfSeriesRnd3VortMiniROKBlakeAustinleasBreannaMorrisandRyanCrombie-1 (2).jpg

For over 17 years now the annual interclub series has provided karters from Whangarei in the north to Tokoroa in the south the chance to broaden their experience by racing at new tracks against different drivers.

They’ve got every incentive to do so too, the prize pool this year including a minimum of $8,000 in prize money, $6,000 in CRC product giveaways, four sets of MG tyres and a custom-painted Arai SK-6 helmet and helmet bag courtesy Arai NZ, Headcase Designs and Lightning Racegear valued at $2000.

This year's four-round series kicks off at the KartSport Tokoroa club's Holsters Trade Zone Raceway in Tokoroa this Sunday and has attracted a 60+ entry across seven classes from the eight contributing clubs.

As well as individual glory for the drivers, clubs compete against each other for the prestigious Roundabout Kart Shop Trophy. This year also sees the introduction of a Dash for Cash GP race at each round with a reverse grid starting format based on results from the five class heats and $500 cash for the winner.

After this weekend's round the series heads to the Bay of Plenty in May, and Auckland in June (Mt Wellington club) and July (Auckland club).

CRC Speedshow is New Zealand's premier automotive and motorsport expo and this year will be held at Auckland's ASB Showgrounds over the July 16-17 weekend.

More information on this year's CRC Speedshow Top Half series can be found on KartSport New Zealand's website  and the Top Half Series Facebook Page.
