KartSport New Zealand is delighted to announce the appointment of Shane Sampson as North Island Executive Member, effective immediately, for the period up until the 2019 National Conference. 

Shane has been involved in KartSport for seven years supporting his son George through Junior and, now, Senior classes.Shane Sampson.jpg Shane has been on the Committee of KartSport Auckland for three years and is the current Club Secretary, a position he has held for two years.
Shane is Managing Director and founder of BizSafety Limited has had a successful career with companies such as Winstone’s, Fletchers ,Tyco (Wormald & Climatech) and Novus Auto Glass
During his time in the corporate sector Shane was selected to attend specialist management and health & safety and management training including:

Dupont - Managing Safety for Operational Managers
Mt Isa Business School (Melbourne) – Effective Leadership
Pilkington Glass – Safety Management System training
Ansul Fire School – Orica Chemical Plant : Botany Bay, Sydney
Cranfield University (U.K) Strategic Marketing training.  
Selected to present a paper on Service management at Tyco’s International Service conference in Madrid Spain 

Shane is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Safety Management.

All the sectors that Shane has worked in, involved “high risks to the safety of staff” due to the nature of the companies work. This meant that everyday Shane was involved in challenging “High Risk” work environments. Shane practiced hands on operational safety management on construction sites, major facilities and utility sites, to ensure the safety of staff.
KartSport New Zealand looks forward to having Shane on board in a general governance role as well as providing the sport with very strong Risk Management expertise and overview.

Shane has indicated that he will consider standing for election at the 2019 National Conference.

Shane’s appointment has been made (under Regulation B11.3.9) to fill the vacancy created by Niki Urwin’s recent resignation and is valid until the 2019 National Conference.
