Sodi Karts Shine at City of Sails

2017 Off to a great start for Sodi kart and IKS.

City of Sails event was held in brilliant sunny conditions at KartSport Auckland, the sun was not the only thing shining as the IKS Team and Sodi Kart drivers proved over the two day event.17sodikartscos.jpg

The Sodi Kart Team with IKS Engines secured 3 class wins, 9 podiums and a new lap record in Rotax Junior. 

Our Sodi Rotax Juniors showed a strong start to the weekend with Ashton Grant qualifying on pole position, Joshua Parkinson 2nd and William Exton 3rd. They were front runners all weekend long Ashton wining two heats and the final, Josh wining heat 3 and William won the prefinal and set a new track record. Ashton Grant secured the win and was also the 2016 Champion of this event!

Results: Ashton Grant 1st, William Exton 2nd, Joshua Parkinson 3rd.

Quade Krissansen had a consistent weekend and finished a credible 10th in the field of 22 competitors.

Cadet ROK: Emerson Vincent was the sole Sodi Kart in the Cadet ROK Class. He qualified in 4th position, came first in two of the three heats and won the pre final and final! 

Result: Emerson Vincent 1st.

In Vortex Mini ROK with 25 entrants there were strong battles all weekend long, our Sodi Drivers Liam Sceats qualified 2nd, Dylan Grant 4th, Bo Hill 7th and Logan Manson 12th .

Dylan showed great race craft, pace and consistency, Liam was in the front group all weekend, Bo Hill set the fastest lap in the pre-final and was as high as 3rd place in the final before an unfortunate DNF. Logan showed much improved pace on Sunday also.

Results: Dylan Grant 2nd, Liam Sceats 4th, Bo Hill 13th and Logan Mason 15th 

Rotax Light saw Daniel Kinsman qualify on pole position, Corey Green 3rd and James Higgins 7th.

Results: Daniel Kinsman 1st, Corey Green 2nd, James Higgins 5th.

In KZ2 Mathew qualified 2nd and had a second and a first heat race result on Saturday, (on Sunday he was best man at a wedding).

We have been working with the Sodi factory since we found out about the new Dunlop slick and we knew from their testing that the Sodi would be well suited to the tyre. The hard work sure paid off.
