KartSport Whangarei is proud to announce that the track extensions are now complete and the Business Coaching New Zealand Raceway is now open for racing. Whangarei track 1.jpg

The track has grown by nearly 30% from its previous 380 meters to a staggering 525 metres, but it has not lost any of its uniqueness with its tight technical nature. In fact this quality has been enhanced with an awesome right left high speed combination and a very challenging negative camber hairpin. The bumps are gone and it is smooth racing all the way.

The opening of the upgraded facility is a momentous day in the 50 plus year history of the club as we have just gained a C rating from KartSport New Zealand and will now be hosting permitted meetings. The first of such meetings will be our annual Summer Slam 2014 event on January 10th, 11th and 12th, club invites will go out soon. We will also be applying for a permit to host a round of The Top Half Series for 2015. However all karters are invited to our grand opening on December 8th 2013 and celebrate with us our first official race day on the new track. Whangarei track 2.jpg

The work does not stop with a new track as we have plans for more modernisation and renovations. Throughout next year we hope to erect permanent pit shelters, extend the club house, install new toilet facilities and seal the pit area. Work will start on these items in January but it will not stop us racing every month so we hope you can join at some point and enjoy our track with us.
