Originally
from Hamilton and now based in Auckland, Mt Wellington has for the past 4
years been Tony's 'home' club. Tony is proprietor of Right Karts and during
the time working at the shop has helped a lot of drivers at Rotax World
Finals and other CIK events in Australia, Spain, Portugal, Hong Kong and the
UK as well as assisting many karters locally, both customers and his
opposition. Tony will in fact go out of his way to help any other karter and
was a natural selection for ACADEMY head coach.

Niki brings a unique set of
skills to his role as Academy Coach being both a competitor and an
experienced coach, the latter the result of work he did with
Motorcycling New Zealand's coaching programme between 1997 and 2005. On
top of which Niki of course is the man who kick started the ACADEMY as
Head Coach and has set such a fine foundation of programs we can all
benefit from. he remains as a key coach in our Development program and
mentor while he spends more time with his International coaching duties
for MX
As Niki says: "As a former
professional motocross rider I understand the demands placed on athletes
in the modern age. I have a real talent for working out the needs of
individual athletes, and helping them to meet these through practice,
preparation and skill development."
