A Win Apiece for the Kinsman Brothers

The Kinsman brothers, Mathew and Daniel, got their 2008/09 season off to a great start with a class win apiece at the Hamilton Kart Club’s annual Anniversary meeting over the September 20-21 weekend.

Mathew Kinsman

Elder brother Mathew was the man to beat in Senior 100cc Light, winning two of the five heats then both the Pre-Final and Final to claim the class win from Morrinsville’s Tyler Richardson and Aucklander Tim Vickers, while younger sibling Daniel won four of the five heats and both the Pre-Final and Final to take Junior 100cc Yamaha from local Andy Schofield and the Bay of Plenty’s Stan Tangaroa-Green.

As they were at the big Blossom meeting earlier in the month the weather gods were kinder at the Anniversary meeting with drivers finally able to put some heat into their slicks!

In the other Senior classes, Blossom meeting winner Graeme Smyth continued on his winning way in Open with the two-day meeting’s only clean sweep, fellow Aucklander Tim Vickers won 125cc Rotax Max Light and finished third in Senior 100cc Yamaha Light, top local Michael Grimshaw won 125cc Rotax Max Heavy and the ‘old firm’ of Stuart Marshall, Darren Aislaibie and Brendon Smith went 1-2-3 in Senior 100cc Yamaha Heavy.

Meanwhile in the other Junior classes, Auckland’s Arie Hutton led the way in Formula Junior, Bradley Hicks led home fellow heat winner Shaun Grocock in Junior Restricted 100cc Yamaha and Hawke’s Bay’s Mitchell Turner won all but one heat to take Cadet from Blake Filluel and Thomas McLean.
