Kartsport New Zealand Man Wins |

KartSport New Zealand contract publicist Ross MacKay (right) has been named MotorSport Journalist of The Year (2005) by MotorSport New Zealand.
MacKay, the man behind motorsport media consultancy FAST COMPANY, was one of two members of the media honoured at the annual MotorSport New Zealand Awards function in Wellington on Saturday night. |

The other was Christchurch photographer Euan Cameron who won the Photographer of The Year award. MacKay, 45, won the Journalist of The Year award with a mixed portfolio of news and feature stories published in New Zealand SpeedSport and Driver magazines. When he is not tapping away on a computer keyboard on behalf of clients like KartSport New Zealand, MacKay can be found behind the wheel of an Arrow AX8 which he races in the Rotax Max Heavy class. Those of you who watch Sky TV might also have caught a glimpse of MacKay in action in the recent 300 km motorcycle race at Pukekohe. He co-rode a Yamaha YZF-R6 with workmate Todd Sutherland. Other winners named at the MotorSport New Zealand Awards function were Parker ENZED New Zealand V8 Touring Car champion Andy Booth who won the Jim Clark Trophy, rally driver Chris West who won the Rally Founders Trophy, young gun Shane Van Gisbergen who won the Steel Trophy, classic racer Jenny Steere who won the Lupp Trophy and Toyota Racing Series category manager Barrie Thomlinson who was named MotorSport Media Personality of the Year.
