2010 SuperKart Series - Round 1 - Manfeild

The opening round of the 2010 SuperKart Series was held at Manfeild on Sunday 6th June.

After a good long range forecast for the weekend the weather then changed and we got some rain but nowhere near as bad as lots of the country had.

The track was wet in race 1 and then during race 2 it started raining again and race 3 was wet.

To my knowledge there were no major spin offs during the day

The day ran well with some good racing in the conditions.

Some people had some minor problems that kept them busy. Wayne Sproston did not get to race due to ignition issues that he could not fix on the day to race.

New driver Brent Sully had a engine lockup in Race 1 and then had a couple of good sessions in the other races to get some good track time in and will be back for more fun.

Robin Woolridge and Andrew Hall did not make the start in race 3 due to I think engine issues on the warm up lap so had to sit on the side for the race and watch.

In Rotax Light Gareth Payle lead the way and won all 3 races.

In Rotax Heavy Nick Issac won the day.

In National Stuart Sowersby won the day in a good 125cc KZ2.

International was a close win with Wayne Mant winning by 1 point over Pete Bayliss

I hope you all had some good fun and will be back for the next round at Hampton Downs on 4th July.

Entry forms will be out soon and if you can please pre enter before the event to make things run easier on the day for us it will be greatly appreciated.

So please spread the word to everyone to come and join us all and have some good racing on the big circuits

Regards
Ross Tait
