The Taupo Superkart meeting on the 1st August 2010 was a great day with some great racing on the full circuit.

Everyone got a 15min practice/qualifying session followed by 4 x 8 lap races which was more than the car club classes had for the day.

The weather was fine till lunch time and then some light rain in the afternoon to keep things interesting on wets.

Everyone had some great racing and Pete Bayliss and a few others got some practice on Saturday on the short circuit. Pete had a gearbox failure on his new Superkart and it was irreparable for Sunday so had to sit and watch unfortunately but will be back for Manfeild to have some more fun.

There were a couple of gear issues/failures with a few other racers as well but all enjoyed their time on the full circuit and the Taupo Car Club changed to the full circuit in favour of us racing with them.

I would like to thank the officials for their work and being very generous on their costs for the event to make it easier for us all.

There will be practice/testing available on Saturday with the Manawatu Car club and 4 races on Sunday to finish the series off. There will be a prize giving at the end of the day for the series.

Please get your entries in early before the event to make the day run easier for us on the day.
