The final round of the SuperKart series for 2010 was held at Manfeild on 5th September and went very well with some great racing and a couple of new entries as well. |

The weather stayed fine and the rain that was coming stayed away with just a little bit of mist. There were a few people that had problems, first Pete Bayliss had a engine issue on Saturday that could not be rectified for Sunday. Wayne Sproston had a couple of engine issues and then opened up his spare Superkart and flew lets say and set a good lap time in the process. That got the race control talking about the pace 1:10.311 sec lap and left the field behind after starting from the back. A couple of others had spins and Ron Alexander had a clutch fail on his Rotax. Other than that there was some very close racing and the finishing points on the day and the series was very close till the end. Thanks to all those that raced the series and had some great fun on the big circuits and look forward to seeing you race next year. Sorry the prize giving was not held due to things running late. The Certificates and prizes will be out soon and vouchers for those that helped with their pre-entries which helps get the info etc done a lot faster. The series results are available here. Rotax Max Light 1st Gareth Payle 2nd Lachlan Miller 3rd Daniel Nagle Rotax Max Heavy 1st Karl Cameron 2nd Tim Wakefield 3rd Garth Lacey National 1st Greg Galway 2nd Stuart Sowersby 3rd Paul Campbell International 1st Andrew Hall 2nd Wayne Sproston 3rd Wayne Mant Thanks to the Hawkes Bay Kart Club for doing our permit etc and I encourage them to allow us to have some great fun on the Road Circuits next year as if we do not run with the car clubs and their dates the costs to hire the track and run the event on our own would be out of this world and the amount of entries just to cover this would be high and unrealistic ! |
