Local driver Blake Harris took the days win in the Cadet class from Matthew Podjursky & Taylor Harte. Chelsea Herbert struggled in the conditions but her 6th place for the day consolidated her overall standing and she took the series honours from Podjursky & Harris. Junior Restricted saw Whangarei’s Thomas McLean win the day and move to the top of the overall standings adding this title to his 2008 Cadet one. The Mt Wellington duo of Taylor Cockerton & CJ Sinclair finished the day in 2nd & 3rd, with Stepehn Appleton in 4th. These three drivers also following closely in the overall points with Appleton 2nd, Sinclair 3rd & Cockerton 4th. The points standings in Junior Yamaha were close going into this final round & consistency was going to be the key. NZ#1 Daniel Kinsman won the round and the series. Daniel Colville, another driver to struggle at this round, still did enough to maintain his 2nd place overall with Andy Schofield 2nd on the day and 3rd overall. Formula Junior class was well depleted in entry numbers. Daniel Connor took both the days honours and the overall with a healthy points margin over Shaun Morris & Aaron Hodgson. Yamaha Light was a battle to the wire between David Meszaros & John van Bommel. Meszaros taking the days win but the two drivers inseparable in the overall result; 1st equal with a substantial points gap back to Tyler Richardson in 3rd. The local boys in Yamaha Heavy had the measure of the competition at the final round with Paul Mabey & Scott Hancett taking the top two spots with Shane Hodgson in 3rd. Hodgson went on to take the win overall from Hancett with Todd Sherley 3rd. Matthew Griffin came back to the fore in Rotax Light, taking the days win from John van Bommel & Matt Hollier. However, it was van Bommel prevailing in the overall result with Griffin 2nd & Hollier 3rd. Brad Tyrrell continued to be unstoppable in Rotax Heavy with a clean sweep for the day and taking the 2009 title from David Waldmeyer & Garry Cullum. In the Great Clash Of The Clubs Rotorua/Taupo held on for the win with Tokoroa moving up to 2nd just pipping Mt Wellington. Click here for the overall results from the series.
