The Executive has recently reviewed the issue of Reinstatement. Below is an official policy statement issued 4th May 2005.

Some Stewards Panels have been reinstating competitors to positions not achieved on the track, sometimes following incidents which occurred mid race.

The following is the KartSport New Zealand policy regarding Reinstatement:

• Competitors cannot be reinstated to positions they did not achieve at the finish of a race regardless of where or when they were disadvantaged. (Only variation is the case of a Race Stoppage. See Rule E.5.14).
   

• Stewards Panels can and should penalise competitors deemed in breach of the rules. Such penalties may include relegation, a time penalty, a fine, etc as allowed for in the rules.

This notice has also been sent to all Officials. You may wish to post this letter on your Club Noticeboard.
