KartSport New Zealand is governed by an Executive, all of whom are volunteers. The Executive employs a full-time General Manager and a full-time Competitions Manager to administer the sport on a day to day basis and provide future development.

Certain Executive positions, the President, Vice President, plus three Executive Members are elected, on a staggered basis, for 2-year terms each year at the National Conference. The elected Executive Members can also appoint a further two Executive Members for the next 1 year period. The National Steward and National Technical Officer plus additional positions such as that of National Secretary, Treasurer, Licencing Secretary, National Race Control Advisor, Medical Officer etc are appointed by the Executive annually following the National Conference.
