Photographer of the Year 2022

KartSport New Zealand is delighted to announce our annual competition to find the Photographer of the Year. This award is made each year at the KartSport New Zealand National Conference Awards Night on August 20th Aug 2022.

Who will have their name on the KartSport Photographer of the Year trophy?

All submissions are welcomed, the competition is open to both professional and amateur photographers.

1. Best Action Photo: On track racing action

2. ​​​​​​​Best "Karting Story" Photo: Driver, team, family, friends orientated image.

3. Best Under 25 Year Old: In one or other category above

Prize

All the submissions are professionally mounted, displayed throughout the conference and auctioned at the National Conference Awards Night. Along with the trophy for POTY KartSport awards to the POTY winner, 20% of the income generated from the auction at the conference of all the mounted photos.

Judging

A panel including a professional photographer, a guest judge from the media and a representative from KartSport New Zealand deliberated and decides on the winner. The judges' decision is final.

Entry Conditions:

  • Photos must be taken at KartSport New Zealand officially sanctioned events.
  • Photos must have been taken during the period 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022 inclusive.
  • Best Story Portfolio (3-4 Shots telling a karting Story)
  • Maximum 3 submissions for Best Action Shot, per photographer
  • Maximum 3 submissions for Best Shot taken by a photographer under 25 years of age, per photographer
  • High-resolution images (at least 4MB, preferably 300dpi)
  • Overtly dangerous and inappropriate images will not be considered.
  • All applicants agree that KartSport New Zealand is granted free use of the images submitted for use in publicity, publications, electronic media and for production of the finalists' prints which will be auctioned at the National Conference.
  • All Karts and Drivers featured in the photographs must meet the Kartsport New Zealand signage requirements (Rule G4) including but not limited to: The Promotional Partners decals namely Giltrap Group on the Front Console and a Carters Tyre Services on the helmet visor

Submissions Deadline:

  • Submissions to be sent to Coordinator and KartSport Vice President  Brent Melhop by 5pm 8th July  2022.
