2024 Silver Fern Farms KartSport South Island Sprint Champs


Kartsport Dunedin held the 2024 Silver Fern farms Kartsport South Island Sprint Champs in very testing and tricky conditions over the long weekend 

It was wet both days but drying conditions in the finals through a few into a panic. 

Canterbury driver Caleb Cross (Rotax Light) and local Jaxon Harvey (Rotax Heavy) successfully defended their South Island titles with Cross having to work very hard to top William Exton from Marlborough who came in 2nd place and Myles Findlay who came in 3rd, while in the Heavy field it was all local with 2nd step taken by Craig McFarlane followed by legends champion Neil Shearer in 3rd.

We crowned 3 new Champions with Marlborough's Taylor Costello dominating the Cadet ROK class with 2nd place going to Freddy Waller and 3rd place going to Jett Randall, and Canterbury driver Ryan Gallagher in the Rotax Max Junior class finding the perfect set up to take top honours, while 2nd place went to Cooper McLeod and 3rd place went Nickolas Cayford. Local Jack McGrath was our last champion to be crowned with a faultless drive all weekend and taking the win from Fraser Hodges from Invercargill who came in 2nd, and Will Finch who came in 3rd.

The supporting classes of Briggs Light and Heavy both crowned new winners with Canterbury’s Tobey Elvy taking a popular win in Light from locals Kyle Loggenberg who came in 2nd and Jamie Mckechnie who came in 3rd. Marlborough’s Andrew Goodsir held off good mate Kevin Baker who came in 2nd and Emma Gray who came in 3rd for the heavy win.
