SuperKart drivers will be out in force this coming weekend at the Taupo International Motorsport Park to contest the third and final round of the Club Championships. With the New Zealand Champs coming up in July at the Manfeild Circuit Chris Amon this will be their final chance to prepare for the big one! It’s also the last chance for any drivers to get their licences signed off to be eligible for the National Champs. Racing will be held over Saturday and Sunday with practice on Saturday morning followed by qualifying on Saturday afternoon and then into the competition for the rest of the weekend. Trophies will be handed out to the winners on Sunday afternoon and competition is expected to be fierce in all classes. Classes competing are International, KZ2, DD2, Rotax Light and Rotax Heavy.
KartSport New Zealand held a display at the hugely successful V8 Supercar event on the weekend and this has generated a lot of positive interest in SuperKarting and Sprint racing.

The International SuperKarts are hitting speeds of 230kph and are posting lap times only a few seconds a lap slower than the top V8 Supercars so the speed and excitement is well worth watching!

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend come and witness some fast, close intense racing! If you’re interested in starting to race at these epic meetings talk to any of the drivers involved to find out how easy it is to get on these full sized motorsport tracks around the country and be part of the action!
