As part of the recently announced version four trial of the new officiating system, which will see the removal of the Clerk of Course positions and other tweaks, a new WhatsApp messaging system will be in place for each round of the 2025 Kartstars Series.

As linked below, there is now a KSNZ Messaging Community on WhatsApp, with each Kartstars class also having a dedicated one-way messaging group. These will be utilized to inform those within the class of important messages, such as requirements to supply onboard camera footage, and class-wide messages from key personnel such as the DSA and Race Director. Both the community and these groups are open to join now and will remain the same for each class throughout the series.

All requests for onboard footage will be made via the WhatsApp group and it will be the competitor’s responsibility to monitor this. As part of the reduction of officials, technology must be used to keep these key aspects of events working. WhatsApp is the chosen platform based on its ease of use being internet based, as opposed to text messaging systems which may struggle for service at some tracks.
