Changes to Results Posting Procedure - 2025 Trial

As part of the officiating trial at the 2025 City of Sails event, the Incident Log (formerly known as Incident Notification System) will now take a much more significant place in event operations. Although largely happening by default already, the Incident Log will become the main source of information for competitor’s post-race. It’s important to make sure you check this after each session to be informed of any information regarding you. You will not receive in-person notification from officials.

As part of this, to allow the officiating team to appropriately work through the available footage of incidents and create a clearer picture for competitors, there will be a slight tweak to the rules regarding posting of results. In adjustment to rule R3.8, the following will apply:

R3.8.1 - Provisional results: The ‘across the line’ results will be posted immediately following a race. However, the 20-minute protest period WILL NOT begin here.

R3.8.1. (b) – Amended Results: The results will be amended to reflect any adjustments made by officials after reviewing available footage. The posting of these WILL start the 20-minute protest period.

R3.8.2 – Confirmed Race Result: This will remain unchanged and see the confirmation of results after the 20-minute period, subject to protests.

All of this will be conducted as part of the trial with potential inclusion at future events if successful.
