
KartSport New Zealand can confirm a 35-year old driver was airlifted directly to Wellington hospital after an incident at Manfeild Circuit Chris Amon in Feilding on Sunday 20 July.
At approximately 3:30pm, the competitor was involved in a superkart incident during a race held under KartSport New Zealand Permit and Regulations. Event officials, plus the event medical team, responded swiftly to the incident and were supported further by emergency services who were subsequently called to the scene, arriving shortly after. The driver was in a critical condition following the incident.
As with any incident of this nature, KartSport New Zealand is cooperating with all investigating agencies as well as undertaking its own full and thorough investigation.
KartSport New Zealand’s thoughts are with the driver, their family and friends, and the whole KartSport Superkart community.
