All you need to know about the 2025 FIA Karting Arrive & Drive World Cup

In December 2024, the FIA introduced its ‘Global Karting Plan.’ The programme aims to make karting more accessible to everyone. One key part of this plan is a new World Cup that promotes the “Arrive & Drive” model. This model ensures that all drivers have equal opportunities and helps lower costs. The world-class competition in 2025 will showcase the potential of the formula, which will develop into several FIA Arrive & Drive Continental Championships from 2026, culminating in a final World Cup.

 

WHAT IS IT?

New FIA Karting Arrive & Drive World Cup, run over a single 3-day event, as part of the Global Karting Plan. Two titles at stake: Junior and Senior.WHEN?14-16 November 2025.

 

WHERE?

At LYL International Circuit, in Malaysia. The brand new 1,514m circuit is part of a top-class resort on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur.

 

WHO?

Junior category: open to 54 Drivers born in 2013, 2012 or 2011, holding an International Karting Licence of Grade G.Senior category: open to 54 Drivers born in 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008 or 2007, holding an International Karting Licence of Grade E or F.Drivers must not have taken part in any Competition forming part of an FIA Karting Championship or Cup in 2023, 2024 and/or 2025. Drivers who have taken part in FIA Academy Trophy only, are not affected by this restriction.Competitors of Drivers aged less than 18 must be the father, mother or legal guardian of the Driver and must hold a valid International Competitor Licence.

 

WHICH MATERIAL?

Strictly identical karts for all Drivers. Kosmic chassis, Vega Option slick tyres, 2-stroke Vortex SV Junior or Vortex SV engines, each derived from OK-NJ and OK-N versions but fitted with a centrifugal clutch. The transmission ratio (rear crown) must be the one indicated by the supplier of karts, with a tolerance of + or -1 cog.Drivers must bring their own personal CIK homologated equipment (helmet, overall, KBP, gloves, shoes) plus some tools and their mechanic.
 

WHICH COMPETITION FORMAT?

A 3-day event, including free practice, Qualifying Practice, Qualifying Heats (3 per Driver), and a final phase. The latter will include the Final, for the best 28 Drivers after the Qualifying Heats, and a B-Final for the remaining Drivers.

 

PRIZES?

The top three Drivers in each category will get an invitation to the FIA Karting Awards ceremony. They will also be selected for the Karting Excellence Centre shootout, among all FIA Karting Championship winners. The Senior winner of that shootout will receive a prestigious scholarship to support his/her progression to FIA Formula 4, while the Junior winner will receive a budget contribution towards his/her next season in an FIA Karting Championship.

 

HOW TO ENTER?

Priority 1: each ASN can nominate and enter their selected drivers (one per category).

Priority 2: if all 54 seats are not allocated to Drivers designated by the ASN, the entry platform will be open to all from August 14 to October 8. Entries will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.The entry fee is €3,850. It includes the complete kart, incl. slick tyres, fuel, trolley and paddock tent. Only rain tyres must be purchased by the Drivers, if necessary. A deposit of 1,500 euros will be required on registration, guaranteeing the participation of the Driver in the Competition and the return of the equipment used, in good condition, to the supplier of karts at the end of the Competition.
