In our inaugural year of participation this year, KartSport New Zealand was very well represented by Jacob Douglas who finished 11th overall out of 51 competitors from around the world. During the year Jacob was ably assisted by his KartSport Academy Coaches, Tiffany Chittenden and Matthew Hamilton.
KartSport New Zealand is now calling for applications from eligible KartSport New Zealand Licenced competitors for 2020. Applications close 5pm Wednesday 18 December 2019.
Eligible drivers have to be born in 2006, 2007 or 2008: who are at least 12 years old (or who reach their 12th birthday during the year) and 14 years old as a maximum (not reaching their 15th birthday before 31 December of the year concerned).
Competition is essentially "arrive and drive". All competitors drive identical karts supplied by OTK and utilise the Vortex DVSJ engine (same as used in NZ for the Vortex ROK DVS classes). At the events engines are issued by random draw and during the events the engines are swapped amongst competitors. All competitors are run out of the same tent at events and Entrants must be a parent/guardian.
For detailed information applicants are encouraged to first talk to Jacob Douglas and his 2019 team. (Craig Douglas: 021 777 760, craig@dpinternational.co.nz is available to provide information.)
