
KartSport New Zealand is delighted to welcome to the national support team Maylene Robbie and Regan Hall as Executive appointments.
New Executive Appointment: Maylene Robbie
Appointed to the new role of Volunteer Coordinator, Maylene is tasked with working with the Competitions and training teams and Clubs across the nation to help drive recruitment, training and retaining new volunteers and officials in all grade levels to join, grow and develop within KartSport.
Maylene Robbie will be known to many having been involved in the sport since her introduction to karting at Sheriffs Road, Manawatu in the late 70’s. A young chap, also well known, was racing McCullochs at the time. "Dave" took her for a spin, quite literally apparently. Maylene was hooked and has been involved in KartSport ever since. After moving north to Whangarei Maylene has turned her hand to everything from flaggie to Race Official duties across the nation and in KartSport New Zealand judicial roles.
Maylene is excited to be coming on board in this crucial support to a role for Clubs and volunteers in recruiting, retaining, mentoring & more importantly supporting the Officials of KSNZ.
Maylene's appointment has been made under Regulation B11.3.1 and is for the period up to the next National Conference.
New Executive Appointment: Regan Hall
The Executive is also delighted to have Regan Hall step up to assist KartSport New Zealand in the crucial area of Marketing and Sports Development. Regan's background including his family’s karting pedigree coupled with his business skills in social-media, digital development, marketing and promotion areas which will be a real asset to the leadership team. Alongside marketing and promotions, Regan is also keen address the “KartSport customer journey”. Working on enhancing the experience for new karters from one’s first introduction through have-a-go days and onwards, culminating in an all-embracing program to encourage as much membership retention as possible.
Regan started racing in the late 1980s when he was 8 years old and progressed through from the Midget (now Cadet) class to Junior then Senior Yamaha, chalking up numerous wins and podiums including a North Island Junior Yamaha title in 1995. He had a 16-year break from karting and returned in 2016 to race in KZ2 and KZ4, winning the ProKart series KZ4 title in 2018 and 2019, as well as podium finishes at the 2018 and 2020 North Island Sprint Championships in Open and KZ2.
In his professional life, Regan is a Digital Marketer, having built a successful marketing agency he has had many of NZ's biggest brands as his clients, providing digital marketing strategy, expertise and execution. He brings this knowledge and experience to his role on the KartSport New Zealand Executive, with the task of helping to drive newcomers and overall awareness about the best-kept secret in NZ sport - karting!
Regan's appointment as Either Island Executive Member (replacing Dee Workman who has resigned) has been made under Regulation B11.3.1 and is for the period up to the next National Conference.
