Giltrap Group extends and grows partnership with KartSport New Zealand

KartSport New Zealand is proud to announce an extension of its important partnership with Giltrap Group, which will see the nation’s premier automotive group continue to support the grassroots of motorsport here in New Zealand.

With a mantra of “It all starts here”, Giltrap Group is placing a significant stake in the ground that it is committed to aligning with emerging motorsport talent long term. The new three-year contract extension will continue the placement of the iconic Giltrap Group brand throughout the sport.

While Giltrap Group’s placement on the top of each competitor’s Nassau panel nationwide will continue, plus the supply of the incredible Polestar 2 and Volkswagen Amarok vehicles, this new extension sees far wider reaching benefits.

As part of the first year of the new deal, Giltrap Group will also support significant investment in a new range of high-quality race and tech official uniforms. Beyond this, the Giltrap Group name will take center stage as the naming rights partner for a range of events throughout the period, which are to be announced shortly.

Making the announcement of this extension even more special, Giltrap Group will celebrate its 60th year in operation in 2026, which will see the addition of some special festivities and activations throughout next year. Giltrap Group has a long history of backing motorsport in New Zealand and KartSport New Zealand are extremely appreciative of the support.

“It’s great to be able to build on an already strong, long-standing relationship with the Giltrap Group.  A big thank you to Hamish Miller, Richard and Michael Giltrap for their increased support of KSNZ. We’re excited to see the next generation of motorsport talent come through karting, following in the footsteps of so many great names many who carry the Giltrap Brand on their helmets,” commented KartSport New Zealand National President Brent Melhop.

Hamish Miller, head of Giltrap Motorsport & Group Partnerships was equally thrilled to see the new deal come to fruition.

“We’re delighted to broaden our partnership with Kartsport New Zealand and further reinforce our commitment to grassroots motorsport” says Hamish. “This is the breeding ground for future New Zealand champions, so it’s important to ensure the base remains strong and well supported. It’s also important to acknowledge the officials and volunteers, often the unsung heroes who generously give up their time to keep things safe and running smoothly.”

The extension of the relationship with KartSport New Zealand follows on from the announcement that the new track at Colin Dale Park in Auckland, will now be known as the Sir Colin Giltrap Raceway. A fitting tribute to the legacy of Sir Colin, and to the essence of Giltrap’s ever-growing support for kiwi motorsport talent.

Competitors, officials and fans alike should keep an eye out for further announcements soon, as more about the partnership is covered.
